After trying nine weighted blankets, I’ve kept three on hand in my bedroom and living room. And one in my office.

Want to stay cool?
Bearaby Tree Napper

This is stylish, heavy, but won’t make you sweat. Tested and truly: You can use it during the summer months and feel fine.
I — along with online reviewers — found it stylish enough to keep in the living room for cuddles on the couch.
Want to be warm?
Gravity Cooling Weighted Blanket
Maybe compared to other weighted blankets it wears cooler but I — as well as many only reviewers — found it to keep you warm.
The washable duvet (with buttons, ties, and zippers inside to keep the weighted innards in place) is a huge bonus.
I manage anxiety, and that manifests in not-so-subtle ways. This means that during the daytime, I may get squirrely sitting while working, and definitely while — what do they call it — “relaxing”? During the night, I can have trouble falling and staying asleep.
In addition to mild doses of medication management and moderate doses of mindfulness, for me, weighted blankets apply just enough pressure to soothe and comfort, and keep my legs still.
In 2024, I tested nine types of weighted comforts, from knitted to duveted, for lap use to whole-body mashing. I found them all to be pretty similar and impressive for different needs, bed sizes, and individual or couple use.
A couple years later and two stay on me most days and nights, and two weighted blanket alternatives I use during particularly anxious times or while working.
I wash the duvet of the Gravity-branded blanket when I wash my sheets and comforter, no problem.
These two were the best for those who get cold and those who run hot.

Whether you’re looking for a way to soothe anxiety or just want to increase the snuggle factor when watching your favorite TV show, a weighted blanket might be what you’re looking for.
If you like the pressure, you might want to invest in a breathable one for warmer months, a full, warm, weighted option for colder months, and a weighted lap option for when you need a heavier accessory to self-soothe.
Any of our recommendations will be a nice option. But to select that “just right” blanket for you, make sure to pick one that’s about 10% of your body weight.
